A warm thank you to our most recent supporters:
In early March 2009, DTHF welcomed the Rotary Club of Claremont (RCC) into our circle of Friends following their impressive donation towards the Kethupila ‘Choose Life' Youth Centre. RCC has an extensive history of uplifting communities around them, and is particularly supportive of endeavors to improve health services in previously disadvantaged areas in the Western Cape. They have been especially valuable to the people of Masiphumelele and Ocean View, such as through their Bicycle Empowerment Network (BEN) Project and the Rotary Centenary Emergent Entrepeneur Project and, now, by greatly supporting the Youth Centre in Masi.
John Burdes, the Rotary Club of Claremont's Director-Foundation, helped to coordinate this amazing contribution. With a specific interest in improving primary healthcare in resource-poor settings, RCC has invested heavily in the future Youth Centre's clinical service delivery. In return, DTHF will play an advisory role in Claremont Rotary Club's forthcoming project - a mobile health clinic to bring health services to farms and rural communities in the Western Cape.
Many thanks to John and all of the members of Claremont Rotary Club who have listened to our needs and given so generously.
Our friends at Chevron South Africa have become one of our strongest supporters over the past several years. James Ngubo, Chevron South Africa's Corporate Affairs Manager, along with the rest of his enthusiastic team, continue to offer a sensitivity and generosity towards our work in a variety of ways. Their support, amounting to hundreds of thousands of Rand, has been instrumental in launching the HIV Education Programme, as well as ensuring the future of our Youth Centre and Women's Clinic in Masiphumelele.
We've shared many special moments with our friends at Chevron, from opening ceremonies with Archbishop Tutu to concerts with Freshlyground. But, perhaps most importantly, we continue to share the simple belief that passion and innovation will lessen the impact of HIV.
In March 2009, we had miracle workers quietly step in, pack up, and load off the dozens and dozens of filing boxes that have been encroaching on head office space for years. Metrofile, Africa's undisputed leader in outsourced, in-sourced, and co-managed information and record management solutions, cheerfully provided DTHF with the incredible service of digitizing, filing, and safely storing our sensitive patient records and other statistical data. Their massive, meticulous warehouses speak for the enormous success of Metrofile's system, and the security we feel with our paperwork in their hands.
Established in 1983, this black empowered, top 300 South African company is listed on the JSE. A long standing member of Prism and a permanent member of the SABS working group on records management, Metrofile is an organisation that has a strong commitment to the principles of sustainability and in particular the:
· transformation and development of our people
· development of the communities in which we work,
· reduction of our impact on the environment
· meeting of international standards and
· adherence to sound and ethic business principles.
Metrofile services are designed to assist businesses and organisations to meet their legislative and corporate governance obligations, and to ensure that information and records are managed safely, effectively and efficiently.
